I'm not a quilter, and certainly not a paper piecer, but I managed to make a star block for the Bushfire Quilt Project. I read about the project on Ofenjen's HP Paper Piecing and although I am not good at this at all, I gave it a shot.
I used the Galaxy Star pattern by Moira McSpadden , because it looked easy, and it was. You can barely tell bits aren't lined up. And, as it's only my third block ever, I'm rather proud of it actually.
I'll be emailing the wonderful and oh so very generous hermione-jean to get her info and send it in asap. Thank you so much for volunteering to put the whole thing together hermione-jean! You are the best!

looks amazing! and that one looks harder than the one i did for sure! mine was only 3 pieces. im just retarded on the paperpiecing and cant do it. although i tried again last night and that one came out much better!
Really, this one is much easier. There are more pieces, but it is much more forgiving when you sew the four big pieces together. Just luck really, I didn't know it would work out that way.
How many are you going to send? It took me hours to do just one and I don't think I have time to do another.
i am just sending the one and i included $5 cash for the batting and shippng and stuff
Cool, I did the exact same thing. I wrapped the cash in the square, so I don't think anyone will know it's in there.

I think we're around 9 or 10, including a couple that are currently in transit. We still need a few more!
Hum, I'll try to do another one next week while K is home on spring break. I'm just so ridiculously slow though, it might not go in the mail till the week after.
